Easter Fun In Carlow

With a lovely stretch in the evenings and Easter fast approaching, we are just looking ahead at what Carlow has to offer this Easter for all the family.

Derek Ryan & Band

We are delighted to say we have the wonderful Derek Ryan and his band here on Easter Saturday night, 31st March, with doors opening at 9 pm, admission is €15 and you just pay at the door. It promises to be a wonderful night of live music and dance. Enjoy an Easter Sunday 3 course lunch in our Killeshin Suite with children receiving a free gift. (while stocks last)

Easter Camps

With the small ones on school holidays you might be looking for some fun ideas to fill your days why not contact Graiguecullen swimming pool who are taking bookings for Easter Camp.

Camp 1: Monday Friday 26th to 30th March 10 am to 10.45 am – €35.
Camp 2: Monday to Friday 2nd to 6th April 6 pm to 6.45 pm – €35.

Easter Train

The Easter Train that leaves the Rathwood Courtyard daily from Saturday 17th March to Sunday 8th April and heads to the woods where the Easter Bunny has a secret mission: to deliver a basket of Easter eggs to a very special person. But the Bunny’s mission might not be as easy to accomplish as originally planned, as Freddy Fox has been spotted in the forest acting suspiciously in recent days.

Huntington Castle

You and your family will not be disappointed at Huntington Castle this Easter, with fun in store from Saturday 31st March to Monday 2nd April, it’s the perfect location for an Easter Egg and Bunny Rabbit Treasure Hunt. Each child receives a basket and a set of clues… they then have to find the golden nuggets and win a chocolate surprise at the end! There will also be an opportunity to meet some of the new little lambs and enjoy the adventure playground. There is limited availability child prices are €6.95 (includes a basket and chocolate treats for each child) adults €5 (usual garden prices)

Delta Sensory Gardens

Join Mr Hop, at Delta Sensory Gardens where the Easter Bunny and his friends are planning some egg-citing family fun this Easter Saturday 31st March from 12 – 5 p.m. Online booking essential for this very special event with the Delta team pulling out all the stops. Lunches, tea/coffee and snacks available. Voted the “number one thing to do in Carlow by Tripadvisor”, Delta Sensory Gardens are set on a 2.5 acre site with 16 interconnecting gardens located on the outskirts of Carlow town. The gardens have so much to offer the visitor during all seasons, from the bright and beautiful daffodils and tulips in spring to the breath-taking colours of the autumnal foliage.

Arboretum

Hop along to the Arboretum this Easter Saturday for our egg-tastic Easter egg hunt. Help Easter Bunny find all the eggs using special clues. Lots of fun and surprises are in store so come along and join in the fun. Tickets are €5 per child. Easter egg hunt times are 10am, 11am, 12pm & 1pm.

Floral Arranging Event

Would you like to be able to create a pretty floral arrangement as a gift or to decorate your home this Easter? Join Robert Miller from 11am to 12.30pm for a talk “Magic of Spring” and then enjoy the wonderfully talented Marie O’Leary Saturday 24th March at the Walled Garden, Altamont Plant Sales, Altamont Gardens, Tullow 1pm to 3.30pm for a demonstration on how to create an array of beautiful Easter and early spring floral arrangements and decorations for your home. €10 for attendance including morning coffee and be in with a chance to win Marie’s arrangement on the day with raffle tickets at €5. Altamont Plant Sales will also be stocking flower arranging basics to help you create your own stunning arrangements at home. Places are limited so booking is recommended.

Easter Mass

Now in its ninth year, the Easter dawn mass takes place Sunday 1st April at Oisín Park, Rossmore, Killeshin, near Carlow town. Starting at 6.15 a.m., this special mass invites visitors to join the many attendees for a spiritual ceremony.

Duck Race

If you’re looking for something different on Easter Sunday why not join the Castledermot Vintage Club for a duck race and junior tractor run starting at Hamilton Road from 3 pm to 6 pm. There will be fun and prizes galore.
