We all had a great time earlier this month at the Wedding Journal Show in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin, where we met with lots of excited couples who had just got engaged over Christmas. They explained that choosing the right wedding venue was one of the trickiest tasks when planning for their big day and finding a venue that ticked all the boxes was a must for them.

I found that most of the couples I chatted with didn’t know that we had acres of landscaped gardens at the back of the hotel and that we also have a spacious candlelit veranda overlooking the River Barrow and the Killeshin Hills.

So, in this month’s blog I thought I’d share with you some of the things the hotel has to offer to help you make your wedding day, a day to remember.

Grounds With A View

Finding a venue with a great outdoor view can provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs and it also means that you don’t have the extra hassle of sourcing a second location for your wedding photographs, saving you both time and money.

We are very fortunate to be situated in a woodland style setting on the banks of the River Barrow at the foot of the Killeshin Hills, while having 10 acres of landscaped gardens surrounding the hotel, providing a magnificent backdrop for all your photographs.

One of the first questions couples often ask me is “can we take photos in the hotel gardens on my wedding day?”. They are delighted when I tell them that they can also use our famous Red Bridge, which makes the perfect romantic setting for photographs. I’ve had lots of couples create quirky photos on the bridge, adding lots of character and fun to their wedding photo album.

We also offer the use of our large private veranda which is decorated with fairy lights and has comfortable seating for you and your guests. During the cooler months we provide fleecy blankets and chimineas to keep you warm and cosy; and in the summer months, the veranda provides the perfect romantic ambience with the sunset setting behind the Killeshin Hills, a spectacular backdrop on a summer’s night.
